this is really great. good for you for taking the time to post information that can help the animals and the environment, and thank you for mentioning AFA :) something else people can do to get information about why and how to be vegan is to check out www.veganstarterpack.com -- they can request a free vegan starter pack that includes information, recipes, etc.

Save the Seals (or whatever you want!!)I was checking my e mail and I saw this mail from PETA (yeah, I may be superficial and apparently dumb, but I'm not, ok?, don't be surprised if I come up with this kind of topics): "The 2009 Canadian seal slaughter has officially ended, and we're happy to tell you that this year, about three-fourths of the seals who were scheduled to be bludgeoned or shot to death during the annual war on seals were spared. More than 300,000 of these gentle creatures were scheduled to die during the blood bath on the ice, but more than 200,000 seals did not suffer the cruel fate that Canada had intended for them. They did not have to feel the pain of having their skull bashed in or feel what it's like to have a hook stuck through their eye, cheek, or mouth—just so that their fur could be stolen for "fashion." This dramatic decline in the number of seals who were killed during the slaughter is largely because the price of seal fur has fallen over the years as the disgust over the slaughter increases. The European Union and the U.S. have banned seal products, and world leadersDemonstrations from London to Hamburg and Los Angeles to Toronto have made the headlines, and kind people all over the world have sent a strong, united message that the seal slaughter must end. have spoken out against the massacre..." It made me think: If that amount of seals can be saved just because the price of its fur is lower thanks to the lack of buyers, what would happen if everybody stop buying meat and all kind of animal products? How many animals can be saved just by stopping eating them? I'm not asking you to become vegetarian or vegan, it's a hard process (I'm still in it) or a radical defender of animal rights (please don't kill president Obama for killing a fly!!) but there's many ways you can help, not only animals but the environment, or any cause you want. But if you really want to be a veggie, or helpanimals/environment, here are some sites that can help you: Peta, VegCooking, Meat.com to convince you hehe, there's a petition you can sign on Peta2, it's called Meat's Not Green and it's about both reducing pollution and saving animals, you can get more info on the site. There's also GreenPeace, and if you love Green Day you'll love this: Green Day+NRDC, also on Myspace: StopGlobalWarming, It's Your Nature, Rock n Renew, Teens For Organic, for the New Yorkers, The Big Green Apple. You can add even Al Gore!! xD And don't forget to +friend Peta2 and Action for Animals here on Buzznet!! There are plenty of groups you can join, and there are plenty of ways youcan help, choose the one you like better and satrt making a difference!
